A story of resilience
After 23 years of running his construction business, Serhii Ovsov never dreamed he’d have to start from scratch. And in a new country no less.
When Russia invaded Ukraine, two things became clear to him: he had to face losing everything he had worked so hard to build, and he had to find a way to protect his family.
In September 2022 Serhii, his wife Nadia, and their children left Ukraine to start a new life in the US. In Ukraine, Serhii’s highly respected construction company employed about 100 people, building hotels, doing government projects, and restoring historic buildings. The same entrepreneurial spirit that inspired him to start his own business 23 years ago compelled him to form a new business here.
So Serhii and Nadia began the daunting task of starting a new business in a new country

Professional Construction, LLC has now been exceeding customers’ expectations for over a year. The business currently employs 25 Ukrainian refugees, all of whom have arrived since the start of the war. Finding a good job can prove difficult in a new country, so Serhii is driven by the desire to employ other Ukrainian refugees, giving them a foundation to start new lives.
Serhii and Nadia’s dream is to someday use their construction expertise and equipment to help rebuild their beloved Ukraine.

The Ukrainian people are still struggling through the hardships of war. Personal products like diapers, baby formula, and hygiene items are needed to provide care and comfort to the most innocent victims of war- the children. Medical supplies such as bandages and tourniquets are also desperately needed for civilians as well as soldiers on the front lines.
Nadia is leading an effort to collect and ship these items to the most devastated areas in Ukraine. To contribute to the effort, please contact Nadia and Serhii at 272-245-0967. When enough items are gathered, Nadia will ship them directly to the people who need them most.
